19 February, 2016, an Indian smartphone brand 'Ringing Bells'
launched a phone named Freedom251 for registrations(pre-order) at an
unbelievable cost of $4(Rs.251) with features of phones which cost
at-least $90-$100(Rs.5000-Rs.6000). It is indeed the world's cheapest
smartphone. Ringing bells says it has more than 650 service centers all
over India. On February 19th , registrations were to start at 6
A.M.(IST) but the site crashed due to the number of visitors and the
registrations was delayed 24 hrs. It had unimaginable number of
registrations,more than 70 bookings. The company said the original cost
for the phone was $26(rs.1719) but they were not working for profit. The
surprising thing is they haven't started the manufacturing yet. They
will also be sending 5000 units each to 100 distributors.
